In dogs this condition is commonly known as Alopecia. There are many shampoos in the market that promotes hair growth in dogs.
These shampoos work on different phases of the hair growth in dogs. The first phase is Anagen, in this phase the hairs are in actively growing phase. The next phase is Catagen and the last but not the least is the Telogen, this phase is also called as the resting phase. Beside shampoos there are many drugs also that helps in solving the hair loss problem in dogs. One of the best treatments for hair loss in dogs is melatonin dosage for dogs. Consult your veterinary doctor If you ever notice in your dog the common hair loss problem then you should instantly consult your veterinary doctor as soon as possible. Your doctor will make you aware of some diseases that also causes hair loss problem, such as Hyperadrenocortism also known as Cushing’s disease, Hypoadrinocortism also known as Addison’s disease, hypothyroidism – in which the hair loss occurs at the lower neck, under the chin, hair loss from the side of the body, hair loss from beneath the thighs as well as from the top of the tail, Hyperestrogenism – in this type of disease the hair loss occurs due to excess of estrogen supply which causes hair fall around the genitals as well as perineum, Cortisone excess – this disease causes the hair fall from the trunk of the dog, Hypoestrogenism – this type of hormonal disease causes hair fall due to lack of estrogen. There are many other kinds of hair fall diseases in dogs such as Acanthosis nigrans, color mutant alopecia, demodectic mange, pressure sore, nasal solar dermatitis, ringworm, sebaceous adenitis as well as zinc – responsive dermatosis and seborrhoea. Remedies for hair loss Other than shampoos which promote hair growth there are many other treatments for hair loss. If hormonal disease is observed in the dog, growth hormone such as melatonin is used for the remedy. But before providing your dog such hormonal medicine don’t forget to consult your veterinarian to be sure of the disease, because there are different remedies and different medicines for different diseases, such as Methimazole for hyperthyroidism, thyroxin for hypothyroidism, Prednisolone sodium succinate, and Dexamethasone sodium phosphate for hypoadrenocorticism, deprenyl and mitotane for hyeradrenocorticism. Some other reasons of hair fall disease in dogs are ringworm, mites, fleas and other types of fungal infections. So, all over there are many remedies for the hair loss problems in dogs. Several types of shampoos are available in the market that helps in the production of hair in dogs. Other than shampoos there are many other treatments of hair loss, such as melatonin dosage for dogs, and many other medicines for different kinds of hormonal diseases in dogs.
