Tips to Keep Your USPS Packages Safe |
Posted: July 16, 2021 |
The United States Postal Service (USPS) is busiest during festive periods and holidays. Of course, I can't say anything about you but the festive periods are the best. During this period, we receive greetings, messages, and my favorite part, gifts from loved ones and family. The process of getting your love and wishes across is, however, a tasking affair from the time spent writing, to getting the presents, to packaging them and finally heading for the post office in time. There is nothing as painful as not getting your packages across to the recipient at the right time. This is why postal inspectors take it upon themselves to prioritize your gifts and cards. You don’t want your package delivered to the wrong address or taking forever to get to your loved one. Also, at the receiving end, you don't want your package stolen from your front porch. Postal inspectors make sure that your package finds its way to the stated address unread, unopened, and intact. Different officers, professionals, and specialized support staff make this happen only for the price of a stamp. You don’t have to wait till the festive periods and holidays to get informed about the best way to ensure your packages are safe. The following are essential tips to help keep your packages safe: 1.Please don't leave it in for long: To avoid possible theft, monitor your packages by tracking the arrival time. Do not leave your emails unattended for too long, just as you won't leave expensive gadgets in your car overnight. Track them closely. If you have neighbors who are present when you are away, you can have them help you with your packages. 2.Try holding your mail at your local post office: If you might be unavailable to receive your package, the best alternative is to hold down your parcel at the local post office. All incoming mails and parcels will be held temporarily until you can pick them up or have them delivered to you. 3.Use the Signature on delivery method: By this method, you are sure that the delivery gets into the right hands. This is a very effective method when dealing with expensive or valuable packages. In addition, you can opt for the "Registered Mail service" that gives your package special attention up till when it gets delivered and adequately documented. 4.Customize your delivery: If the package won't fit our mailbox and you won’t be available to receive the package, you can customize the parcel to be left at a specific location. This can be done on the USPS website by entering the package tracking number and editing the delivery options. 5.Insurance and security measures: if you receive packages regularly, it is best to install a lock on your box. You could get it fixed right to your front porch. Alternatively, ensuring your packages is another way to get reimbursed if they get damaged or stolen. Want to track your parcel?
