First Monday Trade Days may be an event that is well-known in East Texas, but that doesn't stop hundreds of thousands of tourists from heading to Canton. Canton for four days every month. It is open from Thursday until Sunday, just before the 1st Monday each month hundreds of vendors set up their shop offering a wide range of shopping opportunities.
What began over a century ago as flea markets has now become home to some of the most innovative, cutting-edge furniture, antiques, and collectibles in any store. Over the past 150 years, many things have changed in this Original First Monday Park; but the real, home-style human interactions between vendors and consumers is the main reason why they come back year after year.

According to people from who are in the marketplace, concept is that First Monday Trade Days started around 1850, when the circuit judge would drive to Canton on the First Monday of every month. All over the county would travel to Canton for court cases. In the course of time, residents would bring their own goods, whether it was livestock, produce or other items of their own, to sell or trade. Then in canton flea market , First Monday outgrew the town's Town Square so it was relocated to the current site. And the rest is history...
First Monday Trade Days is comprised of a range from private sellers. Chances are that no matter how many times you go but you'll never actually see all. This flea market is situated on hundreds of acreage with more than 700,00 square meters of shopping.
Participating in First Monday is free, but the majority of parking lots surrounding the trade show grounds charge $5 for parking
