Philips Home Nebulizer - Maintenance After each treatment the nosepiece and the nebulizer should be washed with liquid soap and water and then sterilized by boiling in water for 10 minutes or in an airtight pot at 121°C. Clean the mouthpiece and the mask with disinfectant. Dry all parts of the nebulizer with a clean cloth. After cleaning and drying let the compressor run for 5 to 10 minutes before using. The nebulizer should be changed if it is inactive for a long period of time or when it gets clogged by dust, dry medications, etc. With regular use the nebulizer should be replaced every 6 months. After about 500 hours of use the filter should be replaced, but this should be done sooner if it gets dirty, wet, brown or gray. The filter holder should be opened to replace the old filter with the new filter. Don’t reuse or clean the filter.
