Bronchial asthma though not very different from asthma, it can rather be called an amalgam of asthma and bronchitis. The symptoms of asthma and bronchitis are more or less the same and this is the reason why people tend to confuse between the two. In bronchial asthma, the patient may experience attacks of the spasm in the bronchial tract of the lungs. Further this may lead to inflammation of the lungs.
As a result of the inflammation, a patient of bronchial asthma may experience difficulty in breathing. The amount of fresh air or the oxygen that goes in the lungs is reduced and the dirty air or the carbon dioxide may fail to expel from the body. When the oxygen entering the lungs is low, the oxygen that will reach the body parts is also less. As a result of this, a patient of bronchial asthma may experience several allergic reactions that may often be irreversible.
Why is keeping a check on the symptoms of bronchitis important?
Identifying the symptoms of bronchitis is not difficult. It has never been. The problem is especially seen in communicating these symptoms to the expert. Patients, especially children are not well equipped to communicate these symptoms to the expert. As a result, the expert may fail to devise the right correction plan for asthma. One really needs to understand that only when the symptoms are properly communicated, a right treatment plan can be devised.
Breathlessness and the other symptoms of bronchial asthma
- It is known that the symptoms of the asthma tend to surface early in the life. Hence, parents must be aware of the symptoms and must immediately seek medical help for the kids if they see any symptoms that may be related to asthma.
- Some of the symptoms of asthma include pain in the chest, breathlessness, coughing, tightness in the upper body, etc.
- The chest pain is usually because of the inflammation of the bronchial tract that may be causing asthma in you.
- Wheezing is believed to be another detrimental cause of bronchial asthma. In wheezing, a patient may produce hissing sound when inhaling or exhaling the air.
Take note, these are just few of the many symptoms of asthma. Also, if you experience such symptoms, it doesn’t necessarily mean that you have asthma. The symptoms may be a cause or effect of another problem. Hence, a proper diagnosis is necessary. Doctor may usually test your cough or the mucus to identify whether it is asthma or not.
