Holidays....family issues, responsibilities, stress, expectations...gotta love it! Nothing better for the old diet!
While you're preparing for the Big Meal Thursday, prepare yourself, too. Where can you reduce the stress? What dynamics are going to trigger bad eating for you?
You know what's coming...have your "plan B" ready to go.
The only one you can change here is you. Nobody MADE you eat that second piece of pumpkin pie. [did you really want all that whipped cream?]
You ate it cuz something caught you off guard and you went into default mode...eating.
Your plan B can be a comment ["duly noted, Mom"] an activity [take a walk, breathe, leave the room] or a back up [salad vs green bean casserole]....whatever will work for you and the situation. Be a boy scout and be prepared.
This year, don't stuff your emotions...stuff the bird.
P.S. Know what's even better than making dinner? Making reservations!
