The Filmfare awards are a set of awards which honor technical and artistic excellence in the Hindi-language movie industry of India. The Filmfare service is among the most well-known movie events in India. The awards were introduced with the Filmfare magazine of The Times Group in 1954, the Identical year since the National Film Awards. They were known initially as the"Clare Awards" or"The Clares" later Clare Mendonca, the editor of The Times of India. A double voting system was designed in 1956. Under this system, compared to the National Film Awards, which can be determined by a panel made by Indian authorities, the Filmfare Awards are voted on by either public along with a committee of specialists. The service was sponsored by different private organizations previously in addition to current provisions. During a long time in the 1990s, a live service was broadcast to television audiences but was later stopped because of unknown factors. Since 2001, a documented and edited version of this awards ceremony was televised on deciding on a week or two following the service was held. Considering that 2018, the service was televised on Colors. The 65th Filmfare awards event has been carried on 16 February 2020 in Sarusajai Stadium, Guwahati. The Filmfare awards are frequently Known as the Hindi movie industry's equivalent to the Academy Awards at the USA. Until the mid-1990s, Filmfare awards were the most preeminent and most-recognized awards in Bollywood until many different awards sprouted up in Mumbai. This has caused low viewership because of the 2000s. Along with this flagship event, Filmfare also includes versions for other Indian movie businesses, for example, Filmfare awards South for South Indian theatre, Filmfare Marathi awards for Marathi theatre, and Filmfare awards East for eastern Indian theatre.
