What is the reason for contractors to effectively use the adhesive based tape during the job site? The answer is simple: the ability to bond in harsher conditions. This is the same reason why we hate it the most when it wouldn’t come off. The construction based adhesives that quite heavy duty, their gooey, tacky residues can be a real hassle to scratch entirely from the surfaces.
So why does it happen? And what’s the solution for it? My team did a fantastic job researching and exploring the reasons why residue prevails, however, what you would like to know is the ways and methods for a tape residue (Tissue Tapes, PVC Insulation Tape, Paper Masking Tape, and Self Adhesive Packaging tapes) to be removed entirely without needing to disrupt the repressed material. Am I right? Below are some of the most efficient solutions for removing the tape residue:
1) Check First: It is necessary to take a trial of your residue eliminator in a reserved area at the start to ensure that there will not be any disruption to the surface. This process is entirely true for painted surface, wood, and any glossy surface since the agents in the majority of the removers discolor the surface or entirely bleak them.
2) Scratch It: In order for you to separate a sizeable portion of the construction based adhesives (Duct Tape, PTFE Adhesive Tape, Double Sided Tissue Tape, and Tape Roll) from the floor, paneling, and molding, it is best to use a knife to scratch it off completely. The essential factor to remember is to not scratch it entirely with the knife on the surface to cause any damage. For mirrored scratch-resistant or stone surfaces, it is best to consume a straight blade to remove the residue away completely.
3) Be Quick: Always remember, a tape (Plain Bopp Tape, Woven Tapes, Aluminum Tapes, and Double Sided Foam Tape) is similar to a band-aid, and if it is removed gently, it enhances the separation and flow by generating more pain and tackiness, while completely wrenching it off in a singular motion results in reduced pain and a more précised removal. However, this process is not entirely viable for all the surfaces; as a matter of fact, this technique is suitable for tapes which have been bonded for only a couple of days during their days of tackiness.
If the tape has completely dried out with a passage of time and may damage the surface while removing it, then it’s best to take your time and remove it gently and slowly since the surface might be ostentatious if the tape has been on the surface for an extended period mostly on the painted walls.
4) Use the Soapy, Warm Water: For different surfaces like plaster, acrylic, copper, asphalt, linoleum, glass, marble, enamel, vinyl, plexiglass and pewter, you require soapy – warm water. This warm water will make the tape more smooth making it easier to eradicate it using a cloth or a sponge.
5) Apply the Pressure: Different types of wilful construction based adhesives on the bricks, rocks, hard materials and normally concrete can be separated by wrecking the surface through a powerful sandblasting or through blasting other materials. Sandblasters and water pressures makeup of a good team and work efficiently together; however, they sure leave a permanent mark on the rock surface, and hard materials and brick, therefore it is essential to remember all of this stuff.
