I used to smoke a lot of cigarettes and as a result my health was suffering greatly. I tried to quit using nicotine patches and gum and had no luck. I was then introduced to e-cigarettes by a friend of mine. He was using the mini e-cigs that look similar to normal cigarette. I can’t remember what brand it was but I gave it a try and despite being quite suspicious towards them. I was pleasantly surprised and hence then decided to give it a go myself.
The first issue with electronic cigarettes is choosing between the different types ofecig brands and different devices. There are now hundreds and hundreds of providers in the US alone and then on top of that, there are different types of e-cigs that come in different shapes and sizes. The most common form are the ones shaped like a normal cigarette and big brands include Blu, Njoy and V2. The ones that seem to be becoming more popular the refillable tank style electronic cigarettes. These are slightly larger but allow you to refill the tank with ejuice, which I find to be a most cost effective solution. There are then even larger e-cigs used by the more serious vapers called mods or apvs. These are much more powerful devices with a strong battery allowing users to produce more vapor which provides more of a throat hit.
I started with the minis and then switched to using the refillable tank style ecigs or ego ecigs as they are also known as. I still have a mini kit by epuffer that I take when I’m out and about but use a vaporizer pen by v2when I’m at home. This model is the sleekest tank style ecig I have found and works really well. It’s all I need and doesn’t cost me a fortune.
Since using ecigs I haven’t touched another normal cigarette. I hope to use my ecig less and less and with ever decreasing amounts of nicotine until I get down to 0 nicotine. It seems to be going ok but I do enjoy vaping my ecig so I find it hard to cut down on my usage of it. I am though lowering the nicotine level so that’s good. There is still not enough research out there on the health impacts of ecigs and hence I want to use them less and less. I still think they must be healthier than normal cigarettes as they don’t have tar and many of the other carcinogens. There are some long term studies under way on e-cigs, so it will be interesting to see if they are as healthy as some of the firms are claiming.
