Stop Spending on Disposable Razors |

Men understand the frustrating nature of disposable razors. These things dull so fast that it needs to be replaced several times in a month. Not to mention that these commercial razors are sold with ridiculous features that isn’t going to be optimized with its equally ridiculous lifespan anyway. Unfortunately, men feel that they have no choice but to consider razor replacements a regular part of their life. But that's what disposable razor manufacturers would want them to think. The truth is that beyond the barrage of disposable razor ads, there's actually a more economical option, two of them, in fact. Several shaving tips on the internet recommend looking at straight razor and safety razor and do away with disposable ones. Disposable razors easily dull, that's a given. But these other two options provide a shaving implement that long outlasts any expensive disposable razors in the market. These razors have their own respective advantages and disadvantage to keep in mind, however. Here are some of them. 1. Straight razor. The ubiquitous look of the straight razor is similar to any other folding knife. But with its purpose being to shave off hair from sensitive skin, it's a much finer tool overall compared to folding knives. The advantage of using this type of razor is that it practically lasts an entire lifetime. With the correct approach in taking care of this razor, such as fine and careful blade whetting, one can own a single straight razor and use it throughout their entire life. Another advantage of straight razors, albeit childish, is that it somehow evokes a more macho approach to shaving. After all, it is the somewhat riskier option. And this risk is exactly what this razor's disadvantage is. It's easier to nick the skin when shaving using this method. In this day and age where patience is a valuable and rare virtue, it might be unadvisable to go with straight razors. 2. Safety razor. Safety razor resembles disposable razors because they too have shave heads and handles. Safety razors are made of metal however and not fragile plastic. Like straight razors, safety razors can also last a lifetime. Its multiple blades also promises smooth shaving, making sure that stubbles are absent after a thorough shave. It is extremely safer to use compared to straight razors, but is not absent of the risk of nicking the skin or razor burns. One obvious disadvantage of using safety razor is that blades have to be replaced periodically. But then again, replacing these blades are incomparably cheaper and less frequent compared to replacing an entire shaving razor several times in a month. Safety razors are also known to cause razor burns because of the multiple blades. But this is avoidable if a shaving cream is lathered properly. All in all, these two shaving implements provide a more reasonable investment than constantly spending on disposable razors. But for straight up comparison of straight razor Vs safety razor, most people typically tend to prefer the practicality and safety of safety razors.
