Pulleys are wheels with a grooved rim around which a string or cord passes. It is primarily used to smoothly lift heavy loads. A pulley is basically a wheel on an axle that is been designed for supporting the movement of a belt along the circumference. Pulleys are used in several ways to lift the loads, transmit power and apply forces.
