Four Reasons Why Streaming Is Giving Cinemas a Run for Their Money |

As it seems, there is an inevitable loss of revenue for movie theaters because of the availability of streaming. However, it's not as simple as it may be on the surface. It's not the mere existence of movie streaming that's the primary issue. Nobody decides to skip the theaters after reading rogerebert.com movies on review. It's a lot more complicated than just that. In fact, streaming is largely created to provide an alternative for different issues that are encountered by movie enthusiasts as well as regular movie goers. Here are four of the most notable reasons why people would rather be watching movies in their homes that in immersive theaters. 1. Outrageous ticket prices. To add to this, the concessions in movie theaters are also prices ridiculously as well. It's not surprising that some moviegoers end up spending more on snacks than the actual movie ticket itself. Ticket prices have been steadily increasing, and are consequently pushing away avid and casual movie goers. And this increase isn't the typical effect of inflation. This in itself is enough reason for people to embrace the less costly option, which is to stream at home. Even with the obvious disadvantage of watching movies that are a couple of weeks late from release, which also means risking spoilers from reading movie reviews of critics. 2. Watching movies on-demand. Movie dates or simply watching with the family in theater means being at the mercy of the cinema's schedule. Sometimes move dates go awry because couples get to the cinema fifteen minutes late and will have to wait for an hour and a half in order to be able to watch the movie from the start. In contrast to watching movies at home, families as well as couples can set their own movie schedule. This is also a notable advantage to movie enthusiasts who prefer watching movies in the early hours of the morning. A time of the day where movie theaters are obviously closed, and people can instead turn to movie tube. 3. High-quality home theater equipment. Technology is apparently not on the side of cinemas. While cinemas are able to provide booming surround sounds, this immersive experience seems to fall flat when it comes to visual quality. At least, when compared to most high-definition wide screen televisions these days. The effect of speakers in theaters can be easily replicated with some of the more expensive models of speakers in the market today. 4. Limited movie selections. Even with numerous movie theaters to go around, the choices that people are presented with at any given time is relatively small compared to what they can get from a streaming site. It's only natural for cinemas to show movies that are scheduled for their opening weeks as well as those that are on demand by the majority. Unfortunately, there are people who are looking for specific movies that cinemas didn't consider putting up. And this is where the option to stream movies becomes the obvious and logical choice. That's something that cinemas can't impose because they don't have the means to provide that many movies at the same time.
