These gorgeous focal points, however, can only function at their best if they are maintained clean and free of dirt accumulation that obstructs the passage of natural light. We are aware that many of our clients are beginning to ask how to clean their roof lanterns now that the warmer weather is beginning to show and lockdown precautions are beginning to ease. So, allow us to give our best advice for cleaning your roof lantern with you. Wash the outside of your lantern's roof It might be challenging to clean the outside of your roof lantern. For added security, we advise using a solid ladder and making sure someone is standing at the bottom. Always keep an eye on your step while on the ladder and close to the roof lantern, and never stand or rest on it. If you are unsure about your safety, use extreme caution and never try to clean your roof lantern. The outside framework With a non-abrasive sponge, glass cleaning solutions, and warm, soapy water, clean the external frame. Move any furniture that is positioned below the lantern, cover the floor with an old sheet to prevent a mess, and use a duster to reach into the corners and remove any cobwebs. Use a non-abrasive sponge, a reliable roof glass cleaning solution, and warm, soapy water to gently wipe the inside glass. For a clear, streak-free surface, dry the roof lantern with a soft microfiber towel whenever possible. Every two to three months, you should go through this procedure again and clean the inside of your roof lantern to keep it looking brand-new.
