Prepare Students to Produce Digital Art Content |

Preparing students well to produce digital content is all the more important today as technology is increasingly integrated into the education system and as the job market requires more and more skills in this area. One of the questions that prevails today in education is what are the elements to take into account to help students create digital art content and integrate ICT in their learning. In other words: How can technology, including the internet, be used to produce and publish literature and to interact and collaborate with others? Here are some avenues to explore to take the class into the digital age and support students in their transition to the creation of digital content.
1. Distinguish between consumption and creation of digital content Using tools that allow them to create and share content not only changes the way they teach, but also profoundly transforms the future of your students. It can be as simple as using an online scripting tool to allow students to collaborate, as having them work on video editing software to create a digital story.
2. Break the dogma of content ownership.
3. Work on the same skills, produce the same content using different media. What digital technology brings are new methods for designing these projects. We can replace our posters with multimedia content, which may include interactive web links, videos and illustrations. These tools are all the more attractive for the student, as they integrate technology into the creative process. Some of us were writing articles for the school newspaper yesterday, which was then printed and distributed. Today, they would certainly do the same thing, except that they would use a blog or the establishment's website for publication. The article writing process remains the same, only the way to do it has changed.
4. Think globally, act locally Today, the writings of Maghreb students can easily be read, commented on and discussed by other students in Australia or Argentina ... Digital creations allow students to realize how small the world can be ... thanks to the internet.
5. Foster digital citizenship Would you allow a student to write a research report without citing the sources of their information? Of course not. So how do you allow them to use an image or video without mentioning where it came from, just because they were able to upload it to Google. While a student does not risk much for the use in the classroom of a copyrighted image, it is different in professional life. Understanding the rules that govern Creative Commons, or free media royalties, is just as important as acquiring a skill related to the digital content creation project itself.
6. Prepare students for their future working life Doesn't it make sense to put students in this configuration as soon as possible? this will give them not only the technical skills to create digital content, but the transversal skills to be able to collaborate thanks to technology.
To properly prepare students for producing digital content, keep these different concepts in mind. Teaching these skills involves activities as simple as formatting a letter, writing an e-mail, creating multimedia projects, etc. The classroom is therefore an important place for learners to acquire skills which they will need to communicate, collaborate and evolve in the digital mode of tomorrow.
