Balloon Arch Decoration |

If you are about to celebrate a birthday, marriage, or baby shower, among others, this note will interest you from start to finish. We give you some basic instructions so that you can create a balloon arch, which does not require you to buy a structure since we will help ourselves with the elements that we have at home. A balloon arch is a very impressive and versatile decoration. There are endless types of arches, and each type can be adapted to almost any style of event. For simple arches, ideal to mark the entrance of the party or to cross the garden like a lattice, the easiest thing is to use chain balloons. Chain balloons are strong latex balloons with an appendage to tie to the neck of the next balloon and thus form a "garland" of balloons. We recommend using one or two colors for each arch, or better yet, alternate the colors of the balloons. Inflate these with helium, tying the first balloon to a counterweight, thus leaving your hands free to tie subsequent ones. You will need between 18 and 25 balloons per arch, depending on the desired height. As an alternative, you can make a bow of pearls. In this article we explain how to make them, it is very easy and they are beautiful! Another much more solid and impressive arch is made with quartets of latex balloons of one or two colors. Inflate two latex balloons of the same color with helium, tying the necks together, to form a duo. The balloons must be inflated to the same size – otherwise the arch will look very “uneven” and inconspicuous. Repeat with another two balloons (of the same color or a complementary shade), inserting the knots of one duo between the knots of the other, to form a foursome. Tangle the balloons (changing the position of the first balloon with the fourth and the third with the second) so that everything is fixed. Tie this foursome to a strong counterweight with a piece of nylon string. Fit another quarter on top and thread the thread through the center, wrapping it around the knots. Continue until you have an arch of the desired height, attaching the other end to another strong counterweight. To calculate how many balloons you need, divide the length of the arch in meters by the diameter of the balloon in centimeters, and multiply by 500. For example, for a 6m long arch made with balloons inflated to 26cm, you would need about 115 balloons. Variations:
