Traditional Burmese Massage (also called Myanmar Massage or Burmese Touch) is heavily influenced by Indian, Thai, Chinese and Tibetan massage styles and ideas, and is designed for general well-being. Traditional Burmese massage therapy sessions don't use oils creams, lotions or creams or pastes. However, it is crucial to keep in mind that this may differ depending on where the massage is being administered, and the way the massage is carried out. Burmese massage therapy is usually quick, focused, and warm. It's designed to promote relaxation. The aim of all massages is to help clients reduce tension in their muscles, improve flexibility and range of motion, increase blood circulation and lymphatic drainage, improve mental performance in a way that rejuvenates and revives the body, relieve muscles spasms and pains and also reduce stress. The entire goal is to achieve a state of deep relaxation and peace and help the client to recuperate faster from the stressor that caused them.
In Western countries such as the US, Japan, Canada, Australia and New Zealand we've been able to adapt the ancient techniques of Myrtle and chamomile massages to the unique preferences and customs of the country in which we live. The massage is less than a sacred activity in the countries of the east like Myanmar. My experience with Burmese massage, Thailand massage or any other massage is regular over the course of performing Thai massage and has been created by a group of students in the Far East, who come from the lineage of traditional massage practitioners that were called"Druk Yai. "Druk Yai." Although this tradition isn't as diverse as other kinds of massages that are available in Thailand however, it's still highly effective. However, it does offer its own unique healing methods and benefits.
As an Asian massage practitioner who spent 6 years (and nights) in northern Thailand I didn't see the mass use of "Myrrh" that I've observed throughout the remainder of Thailand. It is possible that the Thai language doesn't have the ability to accurately translate the term into English. I spent two years living in northern Myanmar and have a lot of knowledge about myrrh practices there. Certain changes I've observed over the years may be due to the shift from myrrh-based healing towards "herbal medicine."
Myrrh isn't a common ingredient in Thailand's rest. https://dalkom-massage.com/ This is likely due to acceptance of natural and herbal treatments. Massages in Thailand still make use of creams, oils, and waxes. It is believed that this is due to the high volume of messages (masseurs) who are hired to perform massage services. Many Thai massage spas utilize oil-based treatments because they are considered "luxurious".
Many massaging spas in Thailand and in particular, those in northern Thailand, have also adopted the idea of aromatherapy and traditional herbal medicine. These are also being used across the United States, Canada and Europe. However, many of the massaging spas in Thailand that I have been to do not use these traditional forms of healing arts. I believe that this is because these types of methods do not align with the practices of larger, more conservatively-run massage spas that are located in northern Thailand.
Traditional Burmese massage is a totally different experience from the western massages I had studied. This type that I would describe as "Myanma" or "Myrobalan," involves gentle pressure that is applied to certain points on the body. This is done primarily through the kneading. This technique uses long strokes that are not often used in Thai massage, in which the practitioner is only using one hand. After the massage my skin felt calm and I could sleep soundly.
I also discovered that traditional Burmese massages are often accompanied with a specific herbal mix. Mistletoe, Brahmi, and Lavan are among the most commonly used ingredients. While the herbs vary from one location to the next and are used for different purposes, the main goal is to create the feeling of being well. My research found that massage therapists from northern Thailand use Ostrich feathers, ginseng, and traditional Burmese techniques to help clients with muscle spasms related to arthritis.
A full body massage is widely known for its numerous advantages. The soothing effects that it has on my body and mind became apparent immediately after receiving it. Although the Thais do not consider these techniques of full body massage for me but I can confirm that upon receiving them, I found myself more energetic and alert. This feeling of well being spread to my entire body. The basic techniques my Myanmar massage teacher taught me gave me the confidence and strength to tackle my everyday tasks without worry or stress.
