As the owner of the Law Offices of Barbara H. Katsos, PC, Barbara H. Katsos has been in private practice for nearly two decades. Focusing her practice on estate planning, trusts, and wills, she works directly with clients and is responsible for managing and leading all of her firm’s daily operations. Since starting the Law Offices of Barbara H. Katsos, she has served as a court-appointed referee for the Queens County Supreme Court and was selected to serve as the Finch College Alumni Association Foundation’s legal counsel. Over the years, she has won a number of cases, including a breach of contract case that resulted in more than $1 million for her client, and a defamation case that resulted in a decision from the Appellate Division, First Department in New York County which overturned a decision by the lower court.
Beyond her legal work, Dr. Katsos is involved in the education sector. She is the owner of Teba Associates, Inc., She started Teba Associates in 1992, when much of its work involved testing children for language, educational, and psychological problems that affected their academic performance. The company now serves primarily as a consulting firm. Dr. Katsos holds a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Finch College, along with a master’s degree in special education and PhD in organizational administration from New York University. She received her JD from the University of the City of New York Law School.
