What a lot of people don’t realize (and that the news rarely mentions) is that some 70 million people in the world are now displaced. May it be through war. Terrorism. Natural disasters. These are people who sadly no longer have a home to return to without risking their lives.
And when you understand the statistics behind refugees, it’s jaw-dropping.
For example, 1 in 4 refugee children have no access to schools. And the average refugee will stay on a camp for 17 years. Have you ever wondered: why do we not do more for them?
Partially, it’s because of fear. There’s this lie that is often propagated by fear mongers that can lead us to believe that refugees bring dangerous ideas and dilute the culture of their host countries.
