With a BS in interior and textile design from the Philadelphia College of Textiles & Science (now Philadelphia University), Asha Pabla has since acquired substantial experience in the fashion industry that commenced in the early 1980s, at which point she accepted a position with Pressman Gutman Co. Inc. in New York. As a manager of textiles and fabric, Asha Pabla assisted in fabrics manufacture and the import of products distributed to major department stores nationwide.
Subsequent to her position with Pressman Gutman, Asha Pabla managed 45 people committed to the production of three lines of high-performance materials for Milliken & Company in New York, where she more recently engaged with Liz Claiborne as a fashion designer. As such, she not only collaborated to create novel designs, but also oversaw the entire design and production process, from fabric and color choice to the cutting and stitching of cloth.
An arts enthusiast, Asha Pabla’s interests include music and theater. She enjoys taking in performers such as Itzhak Perlman at Lincoln Center and has recently seen the Broadway productions of An American in Paris and Hamilton.
