Storeboard Seeks Partners To Expand Its Network |

Many years ago, I owned a DJ company and advertised in the Yellow Pages and it was very effective. The Internet was in its infancy and the Yellow pages had a monopoly on local advertising so that when someone was ready to buy, they turned to the Yellow Pages. I paid a lot of money to advertise in the Yellow Pages but it was effective and helped me grow my business. Fast Forward Many years later, I travelled the U.S., renovating large multi-family properties and needed to hire local businesses. it occurred to me that although there were a lot more ways to find buinesses, it was harder to find exactly what I needed. The information was spread out and there were many alternatives to the Yellow - not the least of which was the Internet and Google. Nonetheless, it was easier in the days of the Yellow Pages when all of the businesses were in one book and I could simply go down the list and see all of the businesses in my area. I didn't like being steered to certain businesses by Google simply because they paid to be on top. I wanted to see all of the businesses, learn about them quickly, and then call on the ones I thought were best suited. I thought that with the Internet and expanding technology, it should be easier than ever to find businesses and information about them, and likewise, it should be cheaper and more effective than ever for businesses to get their products and services in front of potential customers. Storeboard Is Created I set about creating a website to do just that. When I created Storeboard, I had three goals in mind: 1. Create a free way for businesses to advertise that allows them to tell their story and sell their products and services. 2. Provide a way for small businesses to promote their products and services that levelled the playing field with larger companies through a common profile with no limitations on their ability to add media and information. 3. Create an International community of businesses to foster connections and World peace though great economic cooperation. Little did I know what would be involved and the years of hard work that were ahead of me. Just creating the original screenshots for Storeboard took about 6 months of around-the-clock work. After about 3 years, the 4K pages of code took flight and Storeboard started to sign up its first Members. After 6 years, Storeboard has accomplished these three objectives, is now approaching 100K Members and growing faster than ever.
