As healthy mom is equal to healthy baby, automatically, your health issues affect the fetus. According to the international medical research institutes, x-rays are safe during pregnancy, but it should be limited enough. But, more than that can have the risks of mental retardation of the fetus, along with eye abnormalities. But, you need not be tensed about that as maximum x-rays are limited only to 5 radiations. Are All X-rays Safe? Not all x-rays are safe for the fetus but that matter depends on which part of your body will be examined. For example, if your dental problems are under x-ray machine for scrutiny, no part of fetus is at risk. Similarly, if x-ray is done on your arm, leg or feet, your fetus is out of any risk as it doesn’t come directly under the beams of radiations.
