How to Get Rid of Ants Using Herbs |

Lots of ants crawling around our house is not something we would like to see. The very sight of black little things bumping into each other in a limited space of our kitchen or living room can be disgusting and stress-causing. If you are one of those people who cannot stand them at all, then we suggest calling an expert ant exterminator, such as the exterminator Howell NJ, or anyone else who has experience in pest control and ants extermination. Even though that would be the best solution for every pest problem, using cheaper and non-poisonous ant exterminators – natural, herbal insecticides – is also an option.
Which herbs and natural methods to use against ants? You can apply water solution made with salt and pepper, or vinegar, soap, baking soda, chalk powder, coffee, etc. Many of these and similar things can be used for getting rid of ants in a natural way, without using any poisonous chemical and insecticide, but we want to present here only herbal ant exterminators, that is, herbs which repel ants. The first herb to use for every kind of insects is mint. Any mint herb, like peppermint. Its odor is not only repelling to ants and all other insects, but it also repels larger pest. Who would say that peppermint is the number one pest control herb? Apply this aromatic herb in any way you want: fresh, dried, powdered, in form of tea, oil, water solution… The point is to put it on places infested with ants. Garlic is another very potent insect and other pest exterminator. Though its odor is quite the opposite from the peppermint`s odor, you have to use only a small garlic clove. Just rub it over the places where you saw ants. Remember that garlic is one of the best universal natural remedies and herbal insect exterminators. If you don`t want to use garlic, you can use the juice made of lemons. Combine it with water and sprinkle the mixture to places with ants, as well as any other place in the house. Not a single insect likes the lemon odor and taste. Also, apply crushed lemon leaves. Put peppermint leaves in various places of your home, or place laurel leaves near your food. That will repel ants and other insects of coming to your doorstep. A commonly used natural pest control method is essential oil. Apply essential oils made of peppermint, citrus, clove, lavender, basil, eucalyptus, or any other herbal insect exterminator. These are all used for repelling every insect species, not only ants. Concerning essential oils, you can also use cinnamon oil or ground cinnamon to fight ants. Some people use cornmeal, by putting it on the ants` nest and around the house, while others use wheat cream. They say that when ants eat it, their stomach expands and they… kind of explode. In any case, they die. You can try these unusual methods of pest control, though you should rely on herbal essential oils, peppermint, citrus, and other natural ant exterminators (more general information on this site).
